Vegetation of Grootbos Nature Reserve

Grootbos Nature Reserve hosts a large variety of differentecosystems. The majority of the reserve is covered in species-richfire-prone fynbos shrub- and heathlands. Forests are patchilydispersed as shady islands in places not influenced by wildfires.In order to take effective measures towards the conservation of allthose ecosystems for futuregenerations it is essential to know asmuch as possible about them. This book approaches some basicquestions related to one of the major elements of all naturalecosystems - the vegetation: Which plant communities or vegetationunits are present and how are they interrelated? How can they beintegrated in existing classification systems for the Fynbos Biome?How is the vegetation related to certain environmental variables?How are the vegetation units distributed over the reserve?
