Jobs and enterprise are central to creating neighbourhoods with a sustainable economic future. Yet despite the emphasis within current policy agendas upon the need to view the problems of localised deprivation in an integrated and holistic manner, in practice promoting a strong economic basis for deprived neighbourhoods has remained an elusive challenge.
