Phenomenology of Non-Reacting Spray

Internal Combustion Engines (ICEs) such as diesel engines are immensely important due to their ability to generate high power and fuel economy. Accordingly, researchers and industrialists are seeking different solutions to improve the performance and efficiency of their ICEs. In this regard, the key role of study in context of fuels spray behavior to promote of ICEs is remarkable. Therefore, in this book, simulation of non-reacting and non-evaporating spray of different fuels by using Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) is comprehensively described. This book is highlighting the non-reacting microscopic and macroscopic characteristics of fuel spray and its morphology, breakup procedure and studies related to effects of physical properties of fuels and impression of different ambient and injection conditions on non-evaporating spray behavior by using CFD simulation. Consequently, this book can be an appropriate guidance for researcher and engineers in context of ICEs for recognition about non-reacting spray behavior under different operational conditions and simulate of their intended fuel spray under non-reacting conditions by using CFD.
