With the advent of very-high-resolution commercial satellite sensors, earth observation data have become very important for the verification nuclear activities particularly for the safeguards purposes. Items and activities which can be monitored within a nuclear fuel cycle are, for instance, construction and shape of buildings, plant expansion, changes of the operational status, and construction and operations of underground activities.
